We're Good to Go!

As it has always been, the safety and security of our guests and staff remains our highest priority. We are doing everything we can to ensure your safety during your stay at The Islay Hotel as the situation around coronavirus continues to evolve.

Our already high standards of housekeeping and hygiene have been further enhanced. We are using virus killing products and upgraded protocols. Our enhanced cleaning regime will include:

  • Social Distancing. Social Distancing continues to be required practice in public settings. We’ve adjusted as many public areas and table configurations to adhere to government guidelines. There will be no standing in public areas, all guests will be seated. During your stay, please be mindful of other guests and our staff, and maintain six feet of distance
  • We have adopted a 5-step cleaning protocol for every guest room – Prepare, Clean, Sanitise, Check & Reset. In addition, guests will be asked upon check-in if they wish daily room service. The choice will be yours
  • Extra disinfection of all touch point areas in guest rooms, including light switches and door handles, chairs, etc.
  • Increased and enhanced cleaning frequency of public areas
  • Guest-accessible Islay hand sanitiser at entrances and high traffic areas
  • Reduced paper amenities in rooms and public areas.  Menus in our restaurant and bar will be encouraged to use QR codes rather than paper menus.
  • All guests will be asked to complete a breakfast request sheet which will be delivered to their table or room service, as preferred
  • Contactless check-in and check-out
  • Ultraviolet light to sanitise surfaces and objects
  • All staff will wear personal protective equipment and enhanced training and protocols
  • All residents and non-residents in the hotel will be asked to wear face coverings whilst moving around the hotel.  These can obviously be taken off when seated
  • All our staff are receiving ongoing briefings and training as matters evolve to always ensure enhanced operating protocols
  • We will continue to adjust food and beverage service in accordance with current food safety recommendations and government regulations
